MAHOVA Rainbow Garden
Greetings Virginia Masonic Family,
My name is Alyssa Kiffer and I am the current Grand Worthy Advisor of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls here in Virginia. I have had the absolute honor and privilege of meeting many of you at the statewide functions of each of our Masonic bodies this year and hope to continue connecting with you all throughout the remainder of my term of office.
I am reaching out regarding a fundraiser that my Grand Officers and I have been promoting this year. At the beginning of my term, in June of 2023, I announced that the Grand Assembly of Virginia would be selling engraved bricks to create a new garden space for our friends at the Masonic Home of Virginia. This spring, many of our girls and adult advisors met in Richmond to dig, build, and plant dozens of flowers outside of the original entrance of MAHOVA. However, although our goal has been to sell at least 100 bricks, we have only sold 30 bricks thus far. To meet our fundraising goal and complete the garden, we would need to sell at least 100 engraved bricks, however, we have less than a month remaining in the term.
This initiative is the largest that our organization is implementing this year and truly encompasses Rainbow’s core value of service to our communities, as funds being raised benefit our charity, Stomp Out Bullying, a non-profit which helps combat bullying and physical, verbal, and digital harassment in American youth and promotes a safer environment in our public schools. This charity is very near and dear to both my heart and to so many of our members who have struggled with the issues that this non-profit aims to combat. Not only do the MAHOVA Rainbow Garden Brick Sales benefit a wonderful cause that directly benefits our youth, it also gives a new space for our friends at MAHOVA.
The bricks only cost $100 each and can be engraved with any words of your choosing. You can dedicate a brick to a Lodge, officer, family, loved one, sponsoring order, MAHOVA resident, or anything of your choosing. These bricks serve as a permanent tribute to whomever it is dedicated to and those at MAHOVA who can enjoy what it creates. It would truly mean so much to our girls and to all of the youth involved to have your support. Your presence, both physically and financially, is one of the primary factors that keeps Rainbow going strong.
We truly appreciate your support. If you are interested in contributing to this project, I have attached the form, which you can simply scan the QR code to submit your information and payment to complete. As this is a Grand Term project, the last day of brick sales will be June 29, 2024, which corresponds with our Grand Assembly in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Thank you for your consideration and continued support of Virginia Rainbow.
Thank you so much.
In Rainbow Love and Service,
Alyssa Kiffer
