Grand Junior DeaconBrother Michael Anthony Pelletier was born on November 17, 1964 in Portsmouth VA. He is a 1982 graduate of Great Bridge High School. Mike studied Police Science at Tidewater Community College before being hired by the Chesapeake Sheriffs Office in 1983. During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, he served in a variety of positions including corrections and court room security. He ended his time at the department as the Public Relations Officer for the Sheriff. In 1987 Brother Mike shifted his full-time career to the family business with his father-in-law, Brother Kirk Woodruff.
Brother Mike led the operation of Cape Construction Co., Inc. as the company President building many custom homes throughout the Tidewater area. He was recognized by the Tidewater Builders Association for excellence in custom home construction. The company continued to expand into land development and multifamily dwellings. This became the property management division of Cape Construction Co. The last division of the company created US Termite and Moisture Control. US Termite served residential and commercial properties throughout the Hampton Roads area. Brother Pelletier served as the President of the Tidewater Pest Control Association where he was instrumental in leading the industry to higher standards. He was one of the first in the state to complete the Master Technicians Program at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
In addition to Brother Mikes career endeavors, he has also been active in his community. He served on the Chesapeake Mayors Youth Committee and the Chesapeake Animal Control Advisory Board. Brother Pelletier also served as a director for the Virginia Beach Adaptive Watersports. He continues to volunteer throughout the summer months with adults and children with disabilities by providing safe and challenging adaptive water sports programs. This group partners with a wide variety of organizations that serve many different members of the local community such as the Wounded Warriors, Chesapeake Parks and Recreational Therapist, The Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation and Special Olympics.
Mike was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 30, 1987, in Doric Lodge No. 44. He later joined Great Bridge Lodge No. 257 where he served as Worshipful Master in 2014 and is currently the lodge Treasurer. Brother Pelletier is a Life Member in Perpetuity.
Brother Pelletier was appointed by Most Worshipful Gary Wallace Taylor as the District Deputy Grand Master for the 36th Masonic District 2018 and appointed to the Grand Lodge Committee on Work in 2023. He has also served as the 36th District Education Officer, District Instructor on Work and on the Grand Lodge Committee on Public Relations.
Brother Mike is a member of the Valley of Norfolk Scottish Rite, Great Bridge Royal Arch Chapter No. 82, and the Khedive Shrine, and the Khedive Chevy’s unit. Brother Pelletier is also a member of the St Thomas Conclave-Red Cross of Constantine.
Brother Mike and his wife, the former Susan Diane Woodruff, were married on June 22, 1985, and they have 3 sons David and his wife Katie, Zachary his wife Katharine and Jacob and his wife Kelsie. Mike and Sue have also been blessed with 2 Grandchildren Madelyn and Ewan Pelletier.
Brother Mike and Sue live in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake where they both grew up. They love spending time with family and friends, especially at their waterski club located at Beaver Lake in Eure NC where Mike is a competitive water skier. Mike and Sue also enjoy time with their Grandchildren, camping, fishing and time at their barn with horses and miniature donkeys. Mike and Sue are members at Raleigh Heights Baptist Church.
